SCI400 General Chemistry
– 2 semesters – 1 credit (10, 11, 12)
Prerequisite: "C" or better in Algebra 1, "C" or better in Biology or permission of the instructor. Special Equipment: Calculator
The courses is an introduction to the fundamentals of chemistry, such as atomic structure, bonding, chemical reactions and problem solving and how they affect the world around us. The student should have good math skills and should be prepared to use them in class work, homework and in doing lab reports. The student should be proficient at solving word problems using basic math skills. Homework will involve mathematical problems and brief explanations of basic terms and concepts. The student should be prepared to spend time outside of the classroom reviewing class notes, reading test assignments, and completing written assignments.
