Meet the Teacher

Hi there, my name is Jamie Mrosko and welcome to another exciting school year!

I am originally from Northeast Ohio and graduated from Eastlake North High School. I obtained my Bachelors of Science degree from Ohio University (Go Bobcats!) in Integrated Mathematics. At Ohio U, I had the opportunity to participate in a study abroad program to Merida, Mexico, which helped me to earn a minor in Spanish. I finished my graduate degree in 2014 and earned a Masters of Science in Technology Enhanced Learning from the University of Dayton. I am licensed to teach mathematics in grades 7-12 and also certified to teach computer/technology K-12.

This is my fourth year with Riverside, but before joining the Riverside family, I taught high school math of all levels at Edgewood High School in Ashtabula, Ohio. I also created and implemented the district's first STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) course. My students and I had to the opportunity to learn about all types of engineering, renewable energy resources, CAD (computer-aided design) software, laser engraving, and 3D printing! Teaching this course has helped me discover a love for technology!

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and traveling whenever I can. Luckily, I have had the chance to visit some pretty great places, and I love discussing my adventures with others! Watching and quoting movies is also a big hobby of mine and I almost never miss an episode of Modern Family. When I'm in the mood, I also enjoy some arts and crafts time, which can prove to be very relaxing. I truly consider myself a lifelong-learner and am always looking for new opportunities and experiences for professional and personal growth!
