  • Kudos to Science Teacher Joe Glavan for organizing the Lubrizol Speaker Series at Riverside High School for this school year. Joe met with officials at the Lubrizol plant in Painesville over the summer and secured a variety of Lubrizol employees to come in and speak to Riverside students once a month throughout the school year about their jobs and offer career advice. The first Speakers were both Chemical Engineers and spoke to about 130 students this past Friday September 19th about STEM careers.
  • Stacey Lucas did a remarkable job with this year’s Spirit Week and Homecoming Festivities. Spirit Week was fun and saw many students and staff participating throughout the District. The Homecoming Assemblies, Parade and Pep Rally were all well-organized. The Homecoming Dance was incredible, with over 700 students having a great time. It takes a tremendous amount of time and energy to plan and carry-out these types of events, and Stacey has once again used her talents to help provide a memorable experience for all of our students.
  • Brandy Thomas guided the Varsity Volleyball Team to an undefeated record in the Premier Athletic Conference, winning the conference title and also earning the Number 1 Seed at the Euclid District Tournament.
  • Lisa Wade has been instrumental in helping to reorganize the Media Center to create more functional learning spaces for staff and students. The book collection has also been reviewed and updated.
  • Heidi Perry and Nancy Bartley, our new school nurses, have done a great job working with our students, parents, and staff. Both are readily available to assist with medical situations or questions and have provided outstanding care for everyone at the Campus.
  • Jeff Franz and Emily Eckert work in conjunction to incorporate writing into the 8th Grade math content. An example is writing explination paragrpahs on how to multiply exponents. This type of team effort stretches our studenst and demonstrates cross curricular connections.
  • Jenny Cavell did a great job organizing the Military Veteran’s Display outside the JRW Cafeteria.
  • Jeff Franz was part of a group of teachers from Riverside that presented the 8 Mathematical Practices at the OCTM in Columbus last week.
  • Congratulations to Dave Leone, Laura Poje, and everyone who helped with the production of the play “Acts of God”, it truly was magnificent!
