Stay in Your Lane Mock Crash

On Wednesday, April 26, Riverside High School hosted a new event called Stay in Your Lane, which was a real, interactive, intensive program to educate students about the dangers and consequences of drinking and driving.

Seniors from Madison, Fairport Harbor and Kirtland high schools were also in attendance to experience this program which began with a mock crash scene and then moved into a series of speakers who have been personally affected by drunk driving. The event ended with a “Walk of Remembrance” to honor local people who have been lost in drunk driving accidents.

Guest speakers included:

* Aaron Cooksey – Killed his best friend while driving drunk in 2001. He travels the country to tell his story.
* Chagrin Falls Police Officer Dick Goldsmith - lost his daughter to a drunken driver.
* Matthew Rupert
* Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Detmer
