Emma from Germany Meet Emma, a young woman who lives in the north of Germany. She describes herself as friendly, open-minded and someone who likes to help other people. Emma's father passed away 10 years ago and since then she lives with her mother and a younger brother. She likes to play tennis and guitar. She is currently working at the bakery shop and this summer she will volunteer as a caregiver, help out younger children with youth leisure. Her favorite food is Caesar Salad and Sushi! In the future, she wants to become teacher or psychologist Emma is excited to meet her American host family! No cats indoors.
Tamatorn from Thailand Meet Tamatorn (who goes by Tonzai), a kind, friendly and extroverted young boy from Thailand. He lives with his parents, one older brother and one younger brother. Most of the time, he enjoys playing a game and swimming with his friends. He describes himself as a talkative and funny guy. In his free time, he likes to play piano and guitar. He has been playing piano for 8 years! He also enjoys playing Go games, watching Go games on YouTube and practicing his skills. Tonzai is really looking forward to practicing his English, meeting his host family, and coming to the U.S. for his exchange year! No cats indoors.
Sirisa from Thailand Sirisa, who goes by Prai, is an easy-going and talkative young woman from Thiland. She lives with her grandmother, parents, and one older sister. In her free time, she likes to read books. She and her family enjoy going to a local public library together once every two weeks. Prai likes to borrow English books and read them at home. She also has a passion for playing basketball. She is part of the school basketball team and practices with her friends whenever she can. Prai is excited to study abroad in the U.S. in order to learn about a new culture and make lifelong connections!
AFS is a non-profit organization that works to build a more just and peaceful world through international education and exchange. Students live with a local family and attend the local school district. Students have their own medical insurance and spending money.
