Youth Wrestling

The Youth Wrestling season will begin on January 11 for children in grades kindergarten through sixth grade. There will be a sign-up sheet outside the wrestling room on the first day of practice. The fee for the year will be $50 per child. The payments can be made by cash or check (made out to Riverside Local Wrestling Club).

Due to COVID-19, we will not be able to have league matches on Sundays like the program has in the past. We are still planning on holding practices to improve our athlete‚Äôs skills. We will be holding three practices a week, Monday and Thursday will be the normal practice days from 6 pm to 8 pm.  We will also have an optional practice available on Wednesday 6 pm to 8 pm. Wednesday will be a harder and more advanced practice than the other two days. This year, parents will not be permitted to enter the wrestling room during practice times. Participants will need to bring a water bottle to practice.

The coaches are Connor Rigsby and Chad Ely. Both Connor And Chad graduated from Riverside and wrestled through our program. Connor was a two-time state alternate in high school and went on to wrestle at Baldwin Wallace University after graduation. After college, Connor came back and helped coach the middle school program at Riverside. Chad was a state alternate his senior year of high school.   Chad currently works at Notre Dame Elementary school as the outdoor education and PE teacher.
