All Day Kindergarten Registration and Parent Informational Meetings


Riverside Local School District is pleased to announce that starting with the 2019-2020 school year, all elementary schools in the District will have all-day kindergarten at no additional cost to parents or guardians. 

Riverside Local School District is pleased to announce that starting with the 2019-2020 school year, all elementary schools in the District will have all-day kindergarten at no additional cost to parents or guardians.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2019-2020 school year will begin in May of 2019. The District has implemented Online Registration. Online Registration information can be seen here. Parents and guardians will no longer have to visit the Board Office to register their children. However, if you do not have access to a computer or the internet, you can make an appointment with Crystal Phillips to register your child. EXISTING FAMILIES ENROLLING A KINDERGARTNER – if you currently have an existing student within the Riverside Local School District, please log into the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus and click on the Census Verification link in the bottom left corner to register a new student.

AGE REQUIREMENT
*To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be 5 years of age on or before September 30, 2019.

SCREENINGS
*Students will be screened during the first month of school by the building health aide/nurse.
*Speech/language screenings will be done by the speech therapist in the elementary building during the first month of school.

REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS
The following documents will need to be scanned and uploaded during Online Registration. If you do not have the ability to scan and upload documents, you can still complete the Online Registration, however these documents will have to be handed in at the Board Office. 

1. Picture Identification (verifying that you are the parent/legal guardian)
2. Original Birth Certificate
3. Immunization Records
4. Residency Documentation
a. Utility bill if you own a home
b. Lease & utility bill if you rent
c. Please refer to our district website at www.riversidelocalschools.com for a complete list of residency requirements. 
5. Custody Papers (if applicable)

Parent Informational Meetings
The District's Literacy Coordinator, Abby Hartmann, will host Kindergarten Parent Informational Meetings in May as a way to welcome new family members to the Riverside Local School District. The parent meetings will offer expectations for the kindergarten school year along with tips to support their child academically before their first year of school.
