Fall Sports Round-Up


The Riverside High School fall sports teams had very successful seasons, with many of them making deep playoff runs!

The Riverside High School fall sports teams had very successful seasons, with many of them making deep playoff runs! Below is a round-up. 

Football
The football team won its first playoff game in school history on November 2 vs. Nordonia High School! Unfortunately, their season came to an end in the second round of the playoffs vs. Maple Heights on November 9. They had a regular season record of 8-2!

Congratulations to the football team for having their most successful season in school history!

Cross Country
AJ Haffa qualified for the State Meet and finished 37th after a 27th place finish at Regionals on October 27. He also won the District Tournament on October 22. In addition, the Riverside Boys Cross Country team qualified for Regionals and placed 15th in the competition! Cheyenne Durda of the Riverside Girls Cross Country team earned an individual Regionals qualification at Boardman this weekend!

The Riverside Girls Cross Country placed sixth at Districts, marking an end to a successful season. 

Girls Volleyball
The Girls Volleyball Team won District Championship on October 26 at Euclid High School vs. Mentor High School. They lost in the first round of the Regionals on November 1 to Solon. 

Soccer
The Boys Soccer season came to an end after a playoff loss to South on October 22. The girls won their first playoff game against Euclid but fell to Mentor in the second round of Districts.

Golf
Congratulations to seniors Ian Diffenbacher and Mac Knaus as well as junior Sam Marciano for making first team, all-conference. Logan Frank was an honorable mention.

Tennis
Angelica Ross qualified for the State Tournament and won her first round match at states this past weekend before losing to the eventual runner-up of the tournament.
