We are pleased to announce that the District was recently recognized with a Compass Award.
In 2020, Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague launched the Compass Awards to recognize the organizations and individuals across Ohio who are working to advance financial literacy and empowerment.
The Compass Award is meant to primarily honor a school district’s work around career readiness. Beginning in the 6th grade, students across the District explore careers and real-world application through interactions with people from their community. As students enter Riverside High School, they continue their college and career exploration coursework and experience work-based learning opportunities. Other instruction is provided to teach students how to make positive decisions related to managing their income, as well as a stand-alone Personal Financial Management course.
