Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about School Fees?  School Hours? Medication?

Fees & Supplies:

Each student is required to pay a school fee.  The fees for the 2020-2021 school year will be $68.00.  Checks should be made payable to the Riverside Local Schools.

You may also pay using your credit card on your Infinite Campus Parent Portal (for a small fee).

School Hours:

The Buckeye School day for Kindergarten - 5th grade is from 9:10 a.m.-3:40p.m.  Students may enter the building no earlier than 9:00 a.m.

Pick Up Procedure:

Latchkey will be dismissed to the gym at 3:35 PM.

Car Riders - Car riders are dismissed at 3:35 to the West Parking Lot.  Parents are asked to pull into the pick-up loop and follow the markings for the loop.  Students will be escorted to cars via dismissal staff.  We ask that parents display the pick-up placard in the car window and remain in cars during dismissal.  Please have students enter the car on the passengers side to avoid oncoming traffic.

Attendance:

Absence Line:  (440) 358-8601.  Parents must call the school each morning their child is absent.  Students arriving at school late in the morning should report to the office with their parent or guardian before going to their classroom.

Medication:

When possible, all medication should be given by the parent at home.  If that is not possible, medication may be administered by the school health aide, Mrs. Krupa.  All medication, prescription and over-the-counter, must be accompanied by the school medical form which has been completed by the parent and physician requesting that the medication be given.  All medication must be received in the original container labeled with the student's name, name of medication, and the proper dosage. Medication is to be brought to the clinic/office by the parent, not the student.  If you have any questions, please contact the clinic at our direct line (440) 358-8604.

No child should have medication with him/her at anytime, including non-prescription drugs such as aspirin, Tylenol, essential oils or cough drops.  Students who carry medication with them (inhalers, epic-pen) may do so only with prior approval by a physician and parent.  The proper paperwork must be filled with the school health aide.

Updating Infinite Campus:

Keeping your child's information in Infinite Campus is very important.  We want to be able to reach you in case of an emergency.   You now have the capability to change information on your parent portal (phone numbers and contacts).  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact  the Buckeye office (440) 352-2191 or e-mail:  [email protected].  This information is also used by our automated system to contact you with important messages regarding attendance and school closings.
